Mesh-Native Fundamentals
Your first step into distributed intelligence. Learn what mesh-native means, how the DOSFI stack works, and why it replaces centralized cloud architectures.
About this course
Vertical stack context: DOSFIUniversity (research) → DOSFI Academy (this course) → MeshNativeExchange (publishing & monetizing). Students progress from Learning → Building → Publishing → Monetizing. This course is the entry point for anyone new to mesh-native computing. You will learn the foundational concepts that distinguish mesh-native apps from traditional cloud apps — including distributed execution, local-first storage, and mesh-native inference. By the end, you will understand the Distributed Intelligence Stack and be ready to start building. This core curriculum provides a comprehensive architectural foundation for the DOSFI ecosystem, focusing on the interplay between the DIU, Vital, and the Mesh-Native fabric. Learners will master the mechanics of Node interaction, data orchestration through the MeshNativeExchange (MNE), and the lifecycle management of bundles within the Mesh-Native architecture.
What you'll build
- Identify the operational roles of the DIU and Vital subsystems.
- Configure Routing Policies for standard Mesh-Native workflows.
- Understand the serialization and validation of Bundle Schemas.
- Execute basic state transitions within the MeshInfer engine.
Prerequisites
- Understanding of distributed systems architecture.
- Basic proficiency in JSON-based configuration formats.
- Familiarity with network protocol abstraction layers.
