Developer Onboarding: Your First Mesh-Native App
Build your first mesh-native application end-to-end: from DOSFI identity setup to MeshInfer integration and Vital compute accounting.
About this course
Vertical stack context: DOSFIUniversity (research) → DOSFI Academy (this course) → MeshNativeExchange (publishing & monetizing). Students progress from Learning → Building → Publishing → Monetizing. This is the hands-on developer onboarding course for DOSFI Academy. You will build a complete, functional mesh-native application from scratch — setting up your DOSFI identity, registering a node, making your first MeshInfer inference call, and reading your Vital compute ledger. By the end you will have a working mesh-native app and understand the full development lifecycle. This course provides a foundational architecture overview for the DOSFI ecosystem, guiding developers through the lifecycle of a Mesh-Native application. Learners will investigate the interaction between the DIU, Vital telemetry, and the Transport Layer, culminating in the deployment of a stateless sensor aggregation utility.
What you'll build
- Identify the operational role of the DIU in the Mesh-Native runtime.
- Configure a basic application using the Bundle Schema.
- Analyze telemetry data streams through the Vital subsystem.
- Implement routing policies using the MNE framework.
Prerequisites
- Understanding of distributed systems architecture.
- Familiarity with JSON-based configuration formats.
- Basic command-line proficiency in Linux environments.
