Building Mesh-Native Apps: Architecture and Patterns
Design and build production-quality mesh-native applications using established architecture patterns for distributed execution, local-first data, and compute-aware routing.
About this course
Vertical stack context: DOSFIUniversity (research) → DOSFI Academy (this course) → MeshNativeExchange (publishing & monetizing). Students progress from Learning → Building → Publishing → Monetizing. This intermediate course takes you from building toy apps to engineering production-ready mesh-native applications. You will learn the canonical mesh-native architecture patterns — local-first CRDT storage, compute-aware routing, privacy-tier enforcement, and Vital budget management — and apply them in a series of real-world project scenarios. This core curriculum module provides an architectural foundation for building robust, local-first Mesh-Native applications within the DOSFI ecosystem. Participants will navigate the complexities of distributed system design, focusing on the integration of DIU components, secure communication via the Identity Fabric, and deterministic state management using Mesh-Native patterns. The module culminates in a comprehensive exam to validate proficiency in subsystem orchestration and MeshInfer workflows.
What you'll build
- Understand the structural integration between the Identity Fabric and the Transport Layer.
- Implement state consistency using local-first patterns within the DIU.
- Configure complex Routing Policy to govern MeshInfer request flows.
- Debug synchronization issues across the MNE and Vital systems.
Prerequisites
- Functional understanding of Mesh-Native node lifecycles.
- Basic proficiency in Bundle Schema definition.
- Working knowledge of the DOSFI CLI toolset.
- Familiarity with distributed State Machine concepts.
