Debugging and Observability in the Mesh
Master distributed debugging, distributed tracing, log aggregation, and observability tooling for mesh-native applications.
About this course
Vertical stack context: DOSFIUniversity (research) → DOSFI Academy (this course) → MeshNativeExchange (publishing & monetizing). Students progress from Learning → Building → Publishing → Monetizing. Debugging a distributed application is fundamentally different from debugging a monolith. This course teaches you the observability tools and debugging techniques specific to mesh-native apps: distributed tracing across nodes, log aggregation from multiple devices, Vital spend anomaly detection, and live mesh health monitoring. This course provides a deep dive into the observability architecture of the Mesh-Native ecosystem, focusing on the instrumentation of DIU workflows and the resolution of Transport Layer anomalies. Students will master the use of Vital telemetry to diagnose routing inconsistencies, verify State Machine transitions, and validate policy enforcement across the Identity Fabric.
What you'll build
- Instrument DIU workflows for high-fidelity telemetry collection.
- Analyze Transport Layer anomalies using MeshInfer-native tooling.
- Map state transitions within the MeshNativeExchange state machine.
- Verify Routing Policy enforcement across localized Identity Fabric zones.
Prerequisites
- Foundational understanding of Mesh-Native networking architecture.
- Experience with MNE configuration and Bundle Schema deployment.
- Proficiency in basic CLI interaction with DOSFI management utilities.
