Bundle Envelope Schema Basics

Hands-on structure of a bundle: bundle_id, bundle_type, metadata, and how envelopes carry intelligence.

What you'll build

Vertical stack context: DOSFIUniversity (research) → DOSFI Academy (this course) → MeshNativeExchange (publishing & monetizing). Students progress from Learning → Building → Publishing → Monetizing. A bundle is more than a payload — it is an envelope that carries the metadata required for safe transport. This lab introduces the bundle envelope schema at an intermediate level: the required fields, the role of bundle_type, and how metadata drives adapter behavior. You will inspect sample bundles and reason about which fields each adapter reads. This module provides an in-depth exploration of the Bundle Envelope Schema within the Mesh-Native Transport subsystem of DOSFI. It covers the architecture, data flow, and implementation considerations necessary to effectively define, validate, and process Bundle Envelopes, which are central to secure and efficient message transmission across nodes. Learners will understand how the Bundle Schema integrates with Adapter components, routing policies, and the Privacy Tier framework to facilitate deterministic and reliable Mesh-Native communication.

Skills you'll practice

  • Understand the role of the Bundle Envelope Schema in Mesh-Native Transport
  • Learn how to define and validate Bundle Schemas for different data types and privacy requirements
  • Implement schema validation within the Adapter layer to ensure message integrity and compliance

Before you start

  • Basic knowledge of DOSFI architecture
  • Familiarity with Mesh-Native concepts such as Node, Adapter, and Routing Policy
  • Understanding of Transport Layer fundamentals and data serialization techniques
