Lab: State Movement — Teleporting State Across Nodes

Master the mechanics of moving distributed state across DIUs using binary serialization, metadata envelopes, and CRDT conflict resolution.

Advanced 120 minutesFree

What you'll build

Vertical stack context: DOSFIUniversity (research) → DOSFI Academy (this course) → MeshNativeExchange (publishing & monetizing). Students progress from Learning → Building → Publishing → Monetizing. In this advanced distributed systems lab, you will explore the lifecycle of state movement between Distributed Intelligence Units (DIUs). We move beyond simple RPC calls to implement a robust state transport layer that handles mixed privacy tiers, serialization envelopes, and eventually consistent merges using CRDTs. You will verify system integrity through hash validation as you orchestrate state migrations across a simulated mesh network.

Skills you'll practice

  • Define mixed-privacy state objects for DIU consumption
  • Implement binary serialization for state transport
  • Orchestrate state migration between nodes with metadata envelopes
  • Resolve state conflicts using LWW-Element-Set CRDTs
  • Verify state synchronization via cryptographic hashing

Before you start

  • Basic understanding of Distributed Intelligence Units (DIUs)
  • Familiarity with binary protocols (Protocol Buffers/MessagePack)
  • Experience with JavaScript or Node.js environment
  • Conceptual knowledge of eventually consistent systems
