Lab: Mesh Routing Visualization — See How the Mesh Routes
Trace and visualize path selection across a 5-node distributed mesh using DIU routing policies.

What you'll build
Vertical stack context: DOSFIUniversity (research) → DOSFI Academy (this course) → MeshNativeExchange (publishing & monetizing). Students progress from Learning → Building → Publishing → Monetizing. In this lab, you will configure routing policies through the public DOSFI SDK and observe how the mesh applies them. You will define custom weights for latency, node load, and privacy tiers, then simulate various network scenarios and observe routing decisions through the public SDK -- without accessing the routing engine (closed-core).
Skills you'll practice
- Configure a JSON-based routing policy for a Distributed Intelligence Unit
- Model a 5-node distributed environment with variable metrics
- Execute three distinct traffic scenarios: normal, overloaded node, and privacy-restricted
- Analyze path selection trade-offs via ASCII decision matrices
- Conduct a 'What-If' sensitivity analysis on routing weight adjustments
Before you start
- Understanding of distributed network topologies
- Experience with JSON configuration structures
- Basic proficiency in CLI-based network simulation tools
