Lab: Zero-Install Deployment — Ship a Mesh-Native App
Master the lifecycle of mesh-native applications from JSON manifest definition to distributed node execution.
What you'll build
Vertical stack context: DOSFIUniversity (research) → DOSFI Academy (this course) → MeshNativeExchange (publishing & monetizing). Students progress from Learning → Building → Publishing → Monetizing. In this lab, you will navigate the architecture of the DOSFI distributed environment. You will define a lightweight application manifest, package it into a surface bundle, and orchestrate its deployment across a distributed cluster of Distributed Intelligence Units (DIUs). This exercise focuses on zero-install principles, ensuring that code is delivered, verified, and executed in ephemeral containers without local state pre-configuration.
Skills you'll practice
- Define a valid App Manifest using JSON schema
- Structure a surface bundle for optimal propagation
- Configure DIU distribution policies
- Simulate the loader handshake protocol
- Validate lifecycle state transitions
Before you start
- Foundational knowledge of distributed systems
- Basic understanding of binary serialization
- Familiarity with container orchestration concepts
