Lab: Mesh-Native Storage Schema — Design Distributed Data
Master distributed data modeling by designing schemas for mesh-native applications with tiered privacy and custom sync policies.
advanced 3 hoursFree
What you'll build
Vertical stack context: DOSFIUniversity (research) → DOSFI Academy (this course) → MeshNativeExchange (publishing & monetizing). Students progress from Learning → Building → Publishing → Monetizing. In this lab, you will architect storage schemas optimized for distributed environments. You will move beyond traditional CRUD models to implement mesh-native data structures that respect node sovereignty, define field-level privacy annotations for Distributed Intelligence Units (DIUs), and craft conflict resolution strategies for eventually consistent state propagation.
Skills you'll practice
- Differentiate between local-first, mesh-replicated, and sovereign storage paradigms.
- Design a multi-tier JSON schema for a mesh-native notes application.
- Implement privacy tier annotations for Distributed Intelligence Units (DIUs).
- Define granular sync policies for state distribution.
- Develop deterministic conflict resolution strategies for distributed state convergence.
Before you start
- Understanding of distributed systems architecture
- Proficiency in JSON Schema specification
- Basic knowledge of CRDT (Conflict-free Replicated Data Type) concepts
